Here are some timeless promises of God’s Transforming Grace in the Bible:

Why be so concerned about my future when the Bible says,

  • "`I say this because I know what I am planning for you,' says the Lord, `I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.'" Jeremiah 29:11 (NCV)

Why should I be afraid when the Bible says,

  • "God did not give us a spirit that make us afraid but a Spirit of power and love and self-control." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NCV)

Why should I worry when the Bible says,

  • "Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you." 1 Peter 5:7 (TLB)

Why should I feel worthless when the Bible says,

  • "For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because He owns it." 1 Corinthians 6:20 (TLB)

Why should I say "I can't" when the Bible says,

  • "I can do everything God asks me to do with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power." Philippians 4:13 (TLB)

FOCUS QUESTIONS:

  • How does your way of thinking affect your way of living?
  • Philippians 2:4 - "Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others."  How can focusing on others rather than ourselves help change our attitudes and behavior?
  • What can help you to keep on doing what you should do even if it is hard?
  • How can reading, studying, memorizing, and applying the Word of God help us grow and become what God wants us to be?
